When do we let people take responsibility for their incompetence

News report about Tylenol

People are not only suing the company for those who have been injured or died from taking too much tylenol they are also trying to get the FDA to require tylenol to lower the dosage of each pill.

Tylenol of course claiming they shouldn't be held liable because it says on the bottle what the ingredients are and how much the recommended dosage is. If people choose to ignore it that is their choice. People who are asking the FDA to reduce the dosage  of their reasoning being that some people don't read the listing on the back of the bottle. So to help remedy the problem tylenol is now writing on the cap of the bottle "contains acetaminophen" "always read the label" in red print.

I just wonder when do we let people just suffer the consequences of their stupid decisions. If you're not going to read the instructions on medication before you take it then it's your fault when you suffer from not taking it properly.  There are tooo many things in the world today that we have set rules, regulations and laws for that are just plain ridiculous. Things that are there to assist people who obviously lack common sense. I feel like because of these laws we might be getting in the way of natural selection. lol. Is it true that if it weren't for so many rules and laws about such absurd things a lot of people would probably have died and will die. I think Yes. But who's to say they shouldn't. Do we really need people who are stupid enough to O.D. on tylenol walking around teaching our children, cooking our food, leading our world, PROCREATING! Do we want those genes to continue on. Pretty soon our future generations are going to lack all common sense. Then will we be? I'm sure I'll be dead by then but it's happening pretty fast. I am amazed almost daily at the crazy things that happen in our world simple because someone lacked some common sense.

And that is enough of my ranting for now lol.
