A busy weekend part 1

I'll start off by apologizing for this post being sooo incredibly long. This is a little late but it took a while doing the pictures. The weekend of April 20th was a busy one for sure. I left with my mom on Friday to go to Dothan to pick up Gmommy. We picked her up, which of course took a while because she had to get a shower and we had to get her together. Lol. We finally get her in the car and we head off to Atlanta. We stopped in Columbus to eat at Crackle Barrell. Then again in Hogansville for her to use the bathroom. Every stop takes a while cause Gmommy is on a walker, she's not as slow as she use to be but still it's a walker. My mom drove all the way to Hogansville then I drove the rest of the way. Mainly because it was dark and she doesn't see well at night. Also we were going through Atlanta, and she's one of the worst drivers ever, seriously dad and I don't know how she hasn't gotten into a horrible crash yet, so I always drive at night and through Atlanta. I try to drive all the time so that I don't have to ride with her. It's that scary. Once I was driving things went much smoother. We get to my uncles house and dropped Gmommy off. She announced that she prefers me to drive cause mom scares her. hahahaha. I'm sure my mom was offended but the rest of us thought it was pretty funny. Gmommy is pretty blunt now days. Mom and I get to my sisters house a little after 10:30. I was so tired. Dad was already there. He had to drive separately because he was bringing his Model-A up for my cousins wedding and he had to stop on the way up to pick up new tires for the car and get them put on.

Saturday was crazy! It was so hectic all day. My mom drove me absolutely crazy. I asked her at least 6 times what the plan was for the day. Not to mention all the times I had asked her what the plan was for the weekend during the week. She kept saying that Evan had a baseball game at 12 and then she had to be at the venue for my cousins wedding at 3 because my aunt and her were bringing the bride and bridesmaids lunch, snacks, something idk. I told her that she wouldn't make it there in time if she was going to go to the game. She insisted that she had PLENTY OF TIME. I said ok knowing that later I would get to say "I told you so". I love saying those words. Mom lives in her own little world where time doesn't make any sense. Well we go to Evan's game, which actually didn't start till 12:30 so of course it didn't finish till after 1:30, then we went to Dairy Queen to eat. I didn't bother mom with the time till after everyone finished eating. I wanted her good and panicked. lol (cause I'm just a sweet daughter like that). I asked her, "what time are you suppose to be there again?" she said "3 why what time is it?" I answered 2:56. hahahahhaa. Of course she freaked out and I got to say those amazing words, "I told you" It was a truly joyous moment. We all rushed back to Erins house. I got in the shower cause I didn't have to be there at 3, I was riding with dad and we didn't have to be there till a little before 6 so they could take some pictures with the car. Mom takes off with all her stuff so she can just get ready there. Dad and I get dressed and get ready and leave a little after 4 in the Model-A. It only took us about 45mins to get there. And mom called us twice while we were on the way complaining how far away it was, it's farther than we thought, yall will never make it in time. Like I said before she lives in her own world. The wedding didn't start till 6, that gave us 2 hours to get there, we had TONS of time. Erin and the family couldn't come to the wedding because Ashton had a game at 5:45 and he's been nominated for All Stars and he's pitching so he really can't miss a game.
We get there and I get turned into the old lady lackey. I had to take all of moms crap to the car, take Gmommy to the bathroom before the wedding, put more crap in the car, switch out Gmommys blanket cause one matches her outfit better, make sure her stole and pillow and other blanket were in her chair. By the way all of this takes place in The Vines Mansion. It's a beautiful place with lots and lots of stairs. Anyways. . . the wedding was outside and very pretty. It lasted maybe 10mins. It was great. Rachel, the bride, was beautiful as always and she just has the best bubbly personality. She was smiling and giggling through the whole thing. It was great!

The reception was inside and very nice. The food was great. We got to see most of our family. My cousin Brittany is pregnant with twins and was out on the dance floor breaking it down for us. It was so much fun. I've got a bunch of pictures to post hahaha. We weren't sure how Gmommy would be at the wedding. If she'd get tired or start feeling sick, but she did great. She had a very good time.

Once it was time for the Bride and Groom to leave they ran though everyone holding sparklers and climbed into dads Model-A. Dad drove them away. Of course what most people didn't know is that they weren't actually leaving. Dad just drove them around the area for a while then brought them back for them to leave in their car. lol. Mom and I made a nice old fashion type banner for the back of the car that said "just married" so they gots lots of people honking at them as they rode around. They had a great time. Everyone left after the Bride and Groom did. Mom and I stayed of course waiting for dad to get back. We chatted with Rachels mom for a bit about everything, but mostly sat cause we were so tired. They finally get back and dad, mom and I head back to Erins. We missed a turn and even though I was leading it was their fault cause they told me to turn right instead of left. It was fine though we got to Erins with no other problems and it turns out it was a better route than the one our directions would have taken us.

I'm better off

Blair and I
So I got this picture taken last year at my cousin Katie's wedding. We are the last single grandkids in our family. Brandon wasn't married nor engaged at the time but we knew it was coming soon so we didn't let him in the picture haha. Of course just as I thought Brandon asked his girlfriend, Rachel, of 4years to marry him and their getting married this weekend. Blair and I are still single. lol. The funny thing about it is that Blair is the oldest of all the grandkids and I am the youngest. ( I do have to make a quick observation though, man I am looking tan in that picture. woo hoo! Hope I'm looking that good this weekend.) Don't get me wrong the single life is easier and a lot less complicated, but I do like being in a relationship. I use to be pretty awesome at relationships, and from what I've been told from recent ex's I still am an awesome gf. (and yet they still broke up with me hahahaha whatever) But I have found that I struggle more in relationships now than I use to. I think it's because of everything that I've been through in relationships that causes me to distance myself from people. Well more like the male population, and even more specific whoever I am in the relationship with. I put up walls, and bury my feelings. I pretty much expect the worse, always. I expect to be left. That's just how it is. When a relationship ends it defiantly hurts there's no doubt about it. It hurts a lot. But at the same time there's a part of me that's relieved. I'm single again, woo, I don't have to worry about another person, worry about him hurting me, figure out how to communicate with him when he has hurt me, blah blah blah. Life my be lonely when you're single but it is easier. I turn to my friends when I need to talk, not a bf, I never have. I've never had a bf who really wanted me to. My friends are my support system. I go on trips with my friends and hangout with Brooke all the time so I don't need a guy for that either. I don't need a guy to go out with to have fun. I have my friends for that. (I had thought about writing a depressing or rant post about being single again, why do I always fall into these relationships, I don't trust people, blah blah blah, but instead I'm just writing this simple non angry/hurt post. No sense in writing an angry or depressing post) There were times in my first two relationships that I thought I needed to be with someone. Those were both serious, long term relationship and I didn't really know how to be single. But now, I think I'm better at being single.

earlist memory

The earliest memory that I have would have to be when I had an asthma attack as a child. I was about 2 years old and we were at Chucky Cheese for my cousins birthday party. I don't really remember being there but I remember being taken to the hospital and staying at the hospital. I remember being in the backseat of the car wondering what was going on and why is everyone freaking out. Little did I know that my lips were purple. I remember sitting on the bed and Gmommy sitting on the bed in front of me with my Playschool tape player, you know the one with the microphone. I remember laying in the bed inside a white tent and wondering what was going on. It felt like I was getting shots all over. Of course I didn't understand that I was laying in an oxygen tent and the needle feeling was, that tingling feeling you get when a body part falls asleep, because my body wasn't getting enough oxygen. I remember looking up and seeing a milk jug and wondering why did they have a milk jug in my tent. Of course it wasn't a milk jug it was just part of the oxygen tent thing. I spent a couple of nights there. I don't remember staying the night or anything else about the room but I remember the play room there. I had to walk down a long hallway and I was hooked up to an IV, which I refused to let anyone else push around. I insisted on doing it myself and this was an IV poll tall enough for an adult. So you can picture a 2year old trying to push this IV poll around. Of course I wasn't strong enough too and my parents were holding onto the top of the poll pushing it around. lol. There was one of those big bumps in the doorway to the playroom which I had to have help getting the IV poll over. The only thing I remember about the playroom is there was a window seal that was big enough for us to sit in and my mom and I sat in the window playing tea party.

It's strange how you can remember something from when you were so young but you don't remember all the details of it. You don't even remember big chunks of it, just strange pieces. I guess since I was only 2 years old those were the things that I thought were important so that's why those are what I remember. Who knows.

I paint a picture, I think it's easier to live that way

just a little rant

Today . . . . is an aggravating day. I didn't sleep well last night so I'm tired (mostly just tired of people though). I don't feel good because it's "that time of the month" so of course my fuse is short and people piss me off very easily. I'm not a grumpy, angry, crazy person during "it" but I do get pissed easier. And I have a tendency to say what is on my mind when I would normally keep it to my self. I don't say absurd things or anything. It's things that I was already thinking but wouldn't have said for whatever reason, I just don't have much of a filter on what comes out of my mouth right now. And that isn't a good combination when you live and work with your parents. They drive me crazy on a daily basis so this just makes it worse. And then I'm in some, I don't know what's going on with this guy, thing so that puts me in a bad mood. I had to reschedule things at work because other people had scheduled a closing for the same time another client was suppose to be here. So I had to fix that mistake that someone else caused. I don't really like Wendys but that's where we ate today and of course they messed up my order. (which isn't a big deal but since I'm ranting I might as well add that in) I'd really like to yell at everyone and just leave. Move far far away. Live on the beach. Start a whole new life or something. Of course that isn't going to happen. I'd really like to go to walmart and run people over with my car. Bunch of stupid, arrogant, ignorant people. Not to mention that yesterday I practically got into an argument with a skitsofrantic, drug addict at work. He's normally an alright guy, comes in asks for money or for some papers that we already gave him. I tell him we've already given them to you and he says ok and leaves, but not yesterday. He wanted to argue with me and get in a mood. And dad always told me to be nice cause he's crazy and we don't need him losing it and trying to kill us! So I tried to handle it as nicely as I could. I eventually went and got another secretary. She told him the same thing and he said ok and left. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Seriously he was fine then. But for some reason he was going to get angry and argue with me. That's some bull shit. But that's my life. Whatever.

gmommy update

Well Gmommy finished with her rehab but she still isn't able to go home so she's been moved to an assisted living place. God really worked things out with it. Mom, Aunt Darlene had already gotten everything planned out before they told her that's where she was going. They were really worried about telling her and how she would react. But God worked it all out. Gmommy had a doctors appointment that day to get her arm and hip looked at to see how she was doing. The doctor came in and said that things were looking great and that she is ready to leave the rehab facility however she wasn't capable of going home alone yet. He said that he really thinks that she should go to an assisted living place until she's physically ready to go home. So mom and aunt Darlene were relieved that the doctor told her that would be best for her. The amazing thing is that the doctor didn't know that it had already be planned to move her there. Once they got back to the rehab place the broke the news to her. My mom, aunt and uncle were there to tell her. She took it well. She wants to go home of course but understands that she can't do that right now.

Mom and dad went to Gmommys house the weekend of Easter to get some of her furniture and things. Then they brought it all down to the assisted living home, which is in Dothan. It's only 2miles from my aunts house so that works out really well. Wednesday they released her from the rehab place and moved her over to the assisted living home. She's doing really well there. She loves having her own stuff and that makes her a lot more comfortable and makes it feel like it's hers. It's a two bedroom suite with a den and kitchenette thing. She's also on the corner of the building so she's got more windows and they've put several of her bird feeders outside all of her windows. My mom spent the night with her the first night to help her transition better and so she wouldn't be alone.

It's been a week now and she's doing well. She's having a little trouble making friends but that'll just take some time. She's gotten her hair done there, she's gone out to eat with ( they have several activities through out the day like bingo, exercise classes, going shopping and going out to eat) several of the people there as an outing. So she's doing well and enjoying it more. So things are going well.

moms birthday

We celebrated moms birthday this past week. I kept asking her for weeks what she wanted but she couldn't think of anything and would just say she's got time she'll think of something. Well the weekend before her birthday she decided that instead of getting her anything she wanted me to plan dinner for the whole week and cook. (strange because I normally do that anyways) So I did. Even though she was gone Tuesday night and Thursday her birthday we went out. But anyways. . . I got her a cookie cake that she always wants for her birthday. We celebrated Wednesday and Thursday mainly cause I had to pick up the cake on Wednesday and none of us could wait till the next day to eat it. lol. Dad wrote her a poem about how she deserves a huge rock (large diamond ring) blah blah blah. . . the he got a clear glass door knob and got some of my wire and turned it into a giant ring. It was pretty funny. The real surprise though was the jewelry she got. See my mom has lost some of her favorite and expensive jewelry. It's been almost a year lol. She knew she had put it some where "safe" when they went on vacation last year. They were gone for like 9 days or something so my mom hide her jewelry incase something happened to them. I don't understand either but whatever. So her and my dad have searched the house over trying to find them but no luck. Well on Wednesday my dad decided to check his safe and what do you know there it was. Her jewelry in a ziplock bag in the safe. So dad took them to be cleaned and i put them in a nice box for her to open as if he had actually bought her some new fancy jewelry. She opened that box and yelled with excitement. That was the best gift ever lol. She loved it more than if she had gotten new jewelry. So it was pretty funny.

Thursday her actual birthday we went to eat for dinner at The Catch. And that was pretty much it.

lots of baseball pictures

Well on Friday I headed up to my sisters, following my parents. Saturday we went to Evans baseball game. He's 10 now I can't believe how old their getting.

Ansley being silly

Evan plays 1st base

sometimes she can act like a princess and other times she's well . . . a superhero. lol

the game was getting intense

she wasn't even facing the field lol

Saturday afternoon we went to Dave and Busters for a family shower for my cousin Brandon and his fiance Rachel. We all really like her. She fits in great with the family.
of course the kids wanted to ride in Aunt Casey car!
cause I'm their favorite Aunt. hahahaha joking . .. . . but seriously I am :)

Saturday night I came back home after the shower was over with and hung out with Matt. He had Aiden and was watching his nephew and his little girlfriend. It was pretty funny seeing 13yr olds who like each other.

Sunday I literally slept almost the entire day. I woke up at 9am then went back to sleep. Brooke txted me at 11:30 and woke me up. I got up took a shower and Brooke and I went and had lunch. Then I went back home and slept again from 3-5 lol. Matt called me and woke me asking if I wanted to come over and eat with them. They were grilling hamburgers. So I got up and went. We had a good time although he kept telling me I need to wake up. haha. (which I thought was strange cause it's not like I'm a very talkative person anyways, but he said I am normally more social. So I thought that was good to hear. To know that I'm a sociable person. Sometimes I wonder if I'm sociable enough. You know like do I come off as too quite or shy or even stuck up because I don't a lot? The truth is sometimes I really am shy, hoping that his family likes me, which seems silly now cause his niece seems excited to see me whenever I come over lol. ) Anyways I was just soo tired. I don't know why.

Well that was my weekend. It was really fun. I did however miss Ashton's game on Sunday. He pitches and he hit one over the fence! Very Exciting! Since I missed it I told them that he'd just have to do it again when I'm there to see his game. But I had a fun weekend.

HOLY CRAP I FEEL OLD

So my friend Betsy announced today that their having a baby. (By the way I told everyone for years that she would be the first in our group to get pregnant) I am so excited for her. They are going to be wonderful parents. But man do I feel old. I'll be 26 in July . . . . 26! I'm not suppose to feel old yet! hahaha O well. I was really looking forward to a year off from weddings and babies. But then my cousin Brandon got engaged and we're having a family shower for them this month and I'm helping out on their wedding day providing food for the bridesmaids while they get ready. I'm happy do that, I love my cousin and his fiance. I have another shower to go to this month for a girl I knew growing up and I worked with her at the elections office last year. She's 21. Yes, that's right 21. I have nothing wrong with people that age getting married my sister did and several of my friends did, it just makes me feel old when people so much younger than me are getting married. And then come all the baby news. (By the way I am in NO HURRY to be popping out babies) My cousin Jared and his wife Meghen are having a boy at the end of July. My cousin Brittany and her husband Ben are having TWINS probably the end of July also because the doctors want to take them a little early. My friend Ashley and her husband Andy are having a baby, and now Betsy and her husband Matt are expecting. It's like I can't get away from it. lol. I thought my family and friends were all done for a while but nope. The weddings never end and the babies are popping out at an alarming rate haha. I've got two single friends left and two cousins left and then of course there's me. But hey at least by the time if and when I get married I'll know exactly what I don't want lol.

moving gmommy

Well this morning the Goldstar Ambulance service here in Albany picked up Gmommy from A.G. Rhodes in Atlanta. They're taking her to a different rehab facility in Dothan, Al. where my aunt Darlene lives. After the few mess up's that happened mom and aunt Darlene felt like they should move Gmommy some where they could keep a closer eye on things. So Dothan it is. A deposit has also been put down at an assisted living place in Dothan. The chances of Gmommy getting well enough to return home are not looking good. We kind of knew that though the moment we found out she had fell.

She's been acting strange lately. She's been emotional and crying at pretty much everything. When people come to visit, when they leave, just anything. We're not sure if it's just the effects of morphine wearing off or if it's because she realizes that she probably won't be going home after this, maybe a bit of both. She doesn't know that a deposit has been given for the assisted living home and they're not going to tell her until they know for certain that she can't go home.

The sitter that we have for her now, has been coming 8hrs a day Sunday-Thursday. So Gmommy has been staying nights by herself and Fridays and Saturdays by herself. But after this fall no one is comfortable leaving her at home alone at all. Also the sitter will be starting back school in the summer so she'll only be able to work part time. So I guess it all works out that Gmommy will probably be going to an assisted living home once she leaves rehab.

We're not sure how long she'll be in the rehab place. It all depends on her. If she gets up and does the work to get better and stronger. So we'll see what happens.

Gmommy update

So Gmommy is now in A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab. She's there to get rehab for her hip and arm that she broke before she can go home. Well we get a call Monday saying that she's got a urinary track infection, which isn't a huge deal cause she gets them all the time. However they said that they had already started her on an antibiotic. Well that is a problem because they didn't check with her kidney doctor. They really have to watch what she takes because of the creatine levels in her kidneys are easily effected. Well my mom got all pissed because the people at the rehab place said they knew nothing of her kidney doctor, even though the people at the hospital said that they had sent all that information to them when Gmommy left. Who knows? Well mom checked with the kidney doctor and he said what she was taking was ok, but that he had asked them for blood tests and still hadn't received anything. So my mom had to call back the rehab place and tell them to do all that. So that was Monday.

Wednesday we get a call saying that she isn't doing well. She hasn't been eating and she's very dehydrated. Well that's really weird because the only thing that cause that is when she's on heavy pain medication, but they took her off morphine at the hospital and started giving her something less potent. So my mom drove up there to see what was going on. She called my dad last night and was furious!!!! The rehab place had been giving her two dozes of morphine a day! She's 85 years old!!! You can't give her that! Stupid ass people. Not only that but her right arm which is broken is in a sling. Well these morons had the sling on backwards. How do you even do that? So of course her arm was bothering her. My mom had a fit! She gave everyone a piece of her mind. She was setting them straight about everything!

So that is what's going on. My mom is still there. She's checking on how things are going today and if things have changed then she'll be coming home. But if Gmommy isn't getting better or these people continue to be incompetent she's going to stay till tomorrow when my Aunt Darlene gets there.

Gmommys at it again

So after having a great year with pretty much no complications other than a few urinary infections, she's back in the hospital.

Today she fell and broke her right hip and arm. We got the EMT's to take her to Piedmont hospital since that's where all of her other doctors are. The doctor said that without even having an x-ray he could tell that she would need to have surgery on her hip. And that her arm was definitely broken as well. Now I don't know if that means that it was sticking out or if it's just because she's old so it's pretty positive that her bones break when she falls. She's 85! Now as much as that sucks, no one is all that worried about the actual broken bones. What we're all worried about is her being put back under anesthesia. She did not do well on it before and it has really effected her memory that she's never fully came back from. So we're worried about what it is going to do to her mind this time. Hopefully it won't do anything since it won't be that long, but who knows.

Also she's become lazy over the past few years since she was sick and everything. She got use to people doing everything for her. We really had to force her to do things for her self again, even little things like getting a glass of water! So now that she'll be unable to do things again for herself she's going to get lazy again. We also had trouble getting her up and moving before when she got home. So we'll have to go through all that again. This might end up being the end of her living at home. We knew it was coming but now that she wont be able to take care of herself and her sitter is only comes 5 days a week during the day, that wont work any more. She'll need to have someone round the clock again.

So that is what's going on with Gmommy.

weekend mess

Friday I didn't do much of anything. Saturday however Brooke and I went to Americus. She wanted to get a jacket they had there. Of course we got there and the jacket didn't fit right so she didn't get it. We did go to a local place and had a great lunch! We went to a few other stores while we were there. We went in her vehicle which by the way I'm not sure why cause something always seems to happen to her car. This time the windows upfront went down by them self and we couldn't get them to go back up! Needless to say it was a chilly ride back to Albany! I took some funny pictures of us riding back.
We finally got back to Albany and went to a few other stores. Went back to her house and got her moms car then had dinner. We were tired of being cold. After dinner I went over to Brads house and watched the fights with him. Sunday I didn't do much of anything. I did get up and do zumba though so that was productive. Although apparently I pulled a muscle in my neck doing it cause I woke up in the middle of the night Sunday night hurting. I had to lay on my back facing the ceiling so it wouldn't hurt. When I got up and tried to get ready for work I couldn't. It hurt so bad. I actually almost threw up from the pain. So I stayed home from work and spent most of my day on the couch. By the end of the day I could move it some and it wasn't hurting as much as it had earlier in the day. Today it's a lot better. I just can't lean my head back or to the left lol. I am at work though. So that was my weekend. Parts of it were boring and parts were hilarious!
