Christmas with the girls. Everyone made it this year and we had a great time.

Gmommy update

Well her surgery went great on Dec. 2nd. She recovered well and quickly. She got to leave after only two weeks. She's had to infections or blood clots. She's eating and getting enough fluids on her own to keep her hydrated. She is really tired however mainly because she was on blood thinners in the hospital and of course you do lose some blood during surgery. So we think it'll just take a little time for that to build back up. Also she 84, she's old, old people just sleep a lot. Before all of this happened she use to sleep at least 12hrs a day. So that's about it. Gmommy is doing really well.

Chirstmas time

For Chirstmas this year we went to my sisters house on the 16th-18th. We had Christmas with my dads side of the family at her house on that Saturday and then that night we had Christmas with just our family. The kids had a great time of course. Even though Ansley wasn't quite awake for it she still loved her new Rapunzel doll and chair. She opened those first and of course didn't want to open anything else after that. She finally did open a pink remote car and then of course that's all she wanted to play with. She was so cute. The boys loved their new sleeping bags and duffel bags and the toys they got from meme and pops.









For actual Christmas I went to the lake house with mom and dad. It was nice. I got some pretty awesome pictures on Monday while we walked around the lake a little bit.

patience

I have never asked God to give me patience. I know that God doesn't just give that to people. He gives you the opportunity to be patient. Which means you are going to have a very aggravating time. lol. I never wanted to go through that so I've never asked for it. Also I'm just not a very patient person so I don't care about it. I can be patient at a restaurant or standing in line somewhere but I'm not patient when it comes to dealing with people on a personal/one on one level.

However this year it seemed God thought I needed to learn patience. By the way it hasn't worked out so well. I've had to wait on finding a significant other, which is hard sometimes but over all I think I am doing pretty well with that. He constantly pushes me at work dealing with incredibly stupid, arrogant, ignorant people on a daily basis. I want to reach through the phone and hit them. Also working with my parents and living with them and during the holidays spending even more time with them almost makes me crazy. I want to scream at them all the time! Literally! AHHHH. . . anyways. Also living in Albany is just aggravating enough to drive a person insane.

So I haven't dealt with patience as well as I probably should. O well.

my pirate ship

It is made entirely of Bristol Bored which is a thick paper. And is assembled together with simple ol Elmers glue. Took me a little while to do it all but I'm really happy with it. The Pirate Ship is an entire ship you can hold in your hand. Even has a little ladder leading up to the top deck, there are masts and sails. The clouds, moon and waves are just flat cut outs but attached at different depths to give an illusion of space. I painted a shadow box white to fit match and assembled it all together.

Ah Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a bit different this year. It was mom's weekend to take care of gmommy. So she and I headed up to gmommys on wednesday night. Dad headed up to his moms house in Royston. Thursday we began cooking. I did probably most of it because mom had to change gmommys bandages every hour, so she pretty much just told me what needed to be done and I did it. We prepared some stuff on Tuesday night. Anyways my cousin Blair came over and helped out some. Then dad came down and brought mawmaw with him. Then my aunt Diane and cousin Robbie came over too. That's one of my dad's sisters. So we had an interesting bunch for Thanksgiving. People from both sides of our family. It was really nice and of course the food was great. Everyone went home and it was back to just us again.

Friday we just sat around the house resting lol. That was it. Saturday mom and I ran to the grocery store but for the most part we just sat around. We did start bringing down Christmas decorations and began decorating. We wanted gmommy to have some Christmas time at her house this year since she wont be home for Christmas again. Sunday dad and I came back home but mom stayed. She is taking Gmommy to her pre-op today.

She goes into surgery on Thursday. They get to the hospital at 10 and the surgery is at 12. Mom and Dad are going back up to her house on Wednesday to take her to the hospital on Thrusday. Also one of her nurses is going to because she just loves gmommy and wants to be there. We have some of the best nurses.

So that was my Thanksgiving. It was nice but I'm glad it's over. That's a little too much family time for me.

just a couple of things

Alright, so a couple of things. Not to much going on. I have been re-admitted to Darton and I'm going to take a math class next semester which will mean I'm done with my associates. Yes, I know I am kind of going backwards since I already have my B.F.A. but it's just one class so why not finish it. So once that is over I'll have an A.A. in Special Education and a B.F.A in Photography. I am also looking into getting a Masters in Art Education. I'll probably apply to SCAD-Atlanta again. They have it online and it'll only take a year. Now it's a year of jam packed craziness lol but still it's just a year. So that is what's up with that.

For Thanksgiving mom, dad and I are going to Gmommys. Dad is bringing Mawmaw down on Thursday to have Thanksgiving with us too. And perhaps my cousin Blair might be coming too cause gmommy tried to guilt trip him into coming over hahaha. But for the most part it'll just be mom, me, gmommy and dad this weekend at Gmommys. Dad and I are coming back on Sunday but mom is staying over to take gmommy to pre-op on Monday.

In other news. Yesterday Ansley jumped off the couch at their house and turned her foot wrong. She had a knot on it and wasn't using it so they thought it might be broken. Eddie took her to the emergency room and they said that it wasn't broken it's just sprained. She's got a little brace thing that she wears sometimes for it now and nothing stops her. She is still going full strong running all over the house hahaha. Children are so resilient.

This is a silly picture I drew of a friend of mine chris. He's a fan of the Dallas cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. He also goes running a lot. So I took those things and made it into a silly pic.

This is just a crazy aerial view of a city. I was bored and just started drawing boxes then went from there.

gmommy update

Well yesterday Gmommy had a consultation with a doctor at Emory. He checked out her stomach and said that he thinks she looks great considering everything. He thinks that she should def. have the surgery done. He told her that if she doesn't have it done that she could live 1-2 years but will eventually get a horrible infection that will kill her. So it's best to get the surgery done now. The doctor at Piedmont that is going to do it and the doctor at Emory want her to stay in the hospital 2 weeks before the surgery to get a TPN however Gmommy wasn't to thrilled about that so he's going to let her get the TPN put in and go home. And with her personal nurses at home with her all the time she's really getting better care at home than she would at a hospital. Also the doctor said that she has "jelly belly" meaning that it's giggly hahaha, which is good cause it means that her insides can move around easily. Some of the risks though of course are her old age, there's a 50/50 chance that she won't make it through the surgery, but they are hopeful. She'll have to be on a ventilator for a while, which scares her, who wouldn't be though. Also they said that once they get in there they may find that they can't fix it and then she'll have to be on a feeding tube for the rest of her life. And if they can fix it she still might develop another stoma, which will probably start the whole process again.

Whatever the risks are and the chances of things, it's still better than where she is now. So they are scheduling her to get her TPN put in, spend 2 weeks at home with that. Then she'll have the surgery. She'll spend at least 4 weeks in the hospital afterwards and maybe another 2 weeks in rehab. So there it is. That's the plan.

Oh we're also talking with the hospital about money. Seeing as how it was their doctors fault that all this happened, however that doctor no longer works there. So the deal is if the hospital pays enough to cover her bills and take care of her for about two years then they wont be sued. If they refused then they will be getting sue by the top malpractice lawyer in the state, who happens to be a friend of my dads.

So that's what's going on with Gmommy.

Halloween 2011

I spent most of the night working at Judgment House at church. I was in charge of telling them when to send the next group through. I stood in the family life center or whatever it's called. There were 4 scenes over in that building that I was in charge of making sure that they didn't get backed up. It was really boring most of the time, aggravating at other times but at least I got to use a walkie talkie, ear piece and mike. So I felt important hahahaha. . . I did that job Saturday and Sunday night. Before that though I helped out in registration which was crazy cause I ran cards and lists to different rooms. One night I was an actor in the hospital scene it wasn't to hard I just layed in the bed lol. Another night I was an extra in the funeral scene cause they needed more people to be mourners hahaha. I'm so glad it's over!!!!

Anyways back to Halloween. After Judgment House was over I went over to my friend Stephanie's house. Her, her husband and two other girls were there carving pumpkins. When they finished we went to this bar Cast n Kilt. It was alright. Stephanie entered me into the costume contest as "Greek Goddess of Hotness" hahahahaha it was pretty funny. We didn't stay very long. We left after the contest was through. Then I went home. I was so tired from Judgment House I just wanted to go to bed.



and my Halloween costume is actually a dress that I already had. I just went and bought the gold trim and and did some loose stitches to sew it on. And made the little rope headband with just another trim. It was pretty simple but I think it looked pretty cute.

a crazy wedding weekend

Well my friend Stephanie got married o the 15th. It was a pretty stressful weekend. I was one of her photographers, yes one, that's another story. Anyways that Friday was the rehearsal and I went to check out the church and see how things were going to be. It was went great, then we headed off to the rehearsal dinner. It was nice. Some people got up and said a few words but what really got everyone is what her dad said and what her brother said. It was so sweet and made every girl there tear up. lol. After that some of us went over to their new house that they were going to be living in and just hung out for a bit. I left around 11 because I still had to shower and make sure I had all of my stuff ready for the next day. It wasn't until I got into bed ready to go to sleep that the stress really sank in. I slept about 4 hours maybe. I woke up at 6am and tried to go back to sleep but no luck. I finally got up at 7 and just watched tv. The girls got to the church around 9:30 to start getting ready. I took pictures all morning.




Then around 2 we all went downtown to take the wedding party photos. It was a bit tricking timing everything so that bride and groom didn't see each other but we managed. Stephanie and Josh wanted to keep it traditional and not see each other before the wedding.







Well pictures finally were finished and everyone headed back to the church. People were starting to arrive and everyone was getting excited to get going.

The wedding was lovely. Stephanie looked beautiful. After the wedding some more pictures were taken and then it was off to the reception, which was at the River Aquarium. It was really nice, the food was good, and there was plenty of dancing. Everyone had a wonderful time.








There was of course when Stephanie D.R. fell and hurt her ankle during pictures after the wedding. She's now wearing a boot because she pulled some tendins. And there is a certain amount of blah feeling being a single girl at a wedding. But o well. No biggy I guess.

Over all it was very nice and I am so happy for Stephanie. She's one of my best friends and I love her so much.

Saturday I went with my friend Brooke to this thing for her chem. class. We were suppose to go canoeing and she'd get extra credit for it. However the trailer that holds the canoes was broken so instead we had a cook out and just walked around the area at the Georgia Power Dam. It was such a beautiful day. Just the right temperature and a nice breeze. I took a few pics with my phone. I plan on going back with my SLR and taking pictures. I may use it as a site for shoots. It was really cool.


Brooke asked me "are those ducks or geese?" I said "where?" She said over there on the water. I looked and said "uh brooke those are lily pads" She didn't believe me and we had to walk over to the edge of the water for her to see. HAHAHAHA it was HILARIOUS! I have been joking on her all week about it.

insults

Sometimes I wonder why we say the things we do. Some if not all of our insults are just ridiculous. Where did they come from? Who thought it would be clever to say that? It doesn't make any sense. Some examples of what I'm talking about are Dick, Pussy, Douche, Ass. Why do we call people these things. It just sounds stupid.

Calling someone a dick or a pussy, how is that insulting? I know I'm a pretty big fan of the male genitalia and I'm pretty sure most guys are pretty big fans of the females private parts. lol. Most people get called a pussy when their acting scared or afraid of something. When their being weak and soft. How on earth does that encompass an actual pussy? That's is when you should use the work dick. You hit a girl in the privates and it might hurt a little, but you hit a guy in the privates and they go down! A guys area is much more sensitive than a girls. If you want to insult someone for acting like a baby about something, that is the time to call them a dick or balls for that matter, but not a pussy. If someone is strong and can endure a lot that is when you should call them a pussy. The insults are totally messed.

Calling someone a douche, well that doesn't make sense at all. That is a feminine hygiene product that doctors now tell women not to use. It's suppose to clean out their "insides" but instead takes out all of the good bacteria that they make also. So it's actually bad for their health. So how is calling someone who is being mean or rude or just and over all jerk, a douche insulting them? How do those thing even relate to each other?

I mean they just don't make sense. I think people should really think about the things they say and what it really means. I bet if they did they wouldn't use a lot of the things that they say. Mainly because they will realize how stupid they really sound.

Reluctant Slackers

Ashleys wedding weedend

Well this past weekend I was at P.C.B. for my friend Ashley's wedding. It was craziness the whole time. I got there Friday night and we all just chilled out as best as you can with 3 kids there. I spent the night with Ashley and the kids. We didn't sleep that great and Saturday the kids woke us up at 6:30. It was to cold to take them to the pool or beach until that afternoon. When we finally did get down to the pool it was so incredibly windy we had to sit the chairs on everything to keep stuff from blowing away. We were only down there about an hour and then went back up to the room to get everyone ready. The kids took their baths and Brittany (the other bridesmaid) did Ashley's hair and I took some pictures.

It was pretty hectic trying to get all the kids ready and Ashley and ourselves but it all got done. The wedding was on the beach and it was lovely. I walked down with Chris, Andy's (the groom) youngest brother, and he hit on me the whole way down. It was pretty funny actually. Anyways. Ashley looked beautiful. We took pictures right after the ceremony and then headed off to the reception which was at Saltwater Grill. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!! Omg the best steak ever! We ate, they cut the cake, and then we headed on back to the hotel.




We all changed clothes and the headed out to Spinnakers. We had a limo which was really nice. We all had a great time at the club. Watching people dance and act crazy is always entertaining. O by the way there was some type of bike weekend thing going on so there were bikers everywhere and they were pissing me off cause they were horrible drivers. But there were some at the club and it was hilarious watching the dance. I danced some with ashley, with brittany, and with chris. Most of the time we all just danced as a big group. And a few times Brittany and I danced behind Ashley while she danced with Andy cause her dress kept sliding up and we were trying to keep her from showing everyone her butt. We got back to the hotel at 3am and Brooke and I went straight to bed. I was so tired. The kids woke us up around 7 but Ashley's mom stayed in our condo that night and was taking care of the kids. But we still couldn't get back to sleep. Brooke and I had lunch at Scampys which is always great, then went back to the hotel to change and go layout. However, Brooke realized that she had grabbed two bottoms and had no top to her bathing suite so we went out and bought one. We finally got to the pool and layed out. It was so nice outside. It was warm with a light breeze. It was so relaxing. We didn't want to leave. We finally did leave around 5 our time and got back to albany at 8 our time which was great. I took a shower and was in bed by 8:30 lol. I didn't even dry my hair. I was out by 10:30 and slept all night until my alarm went off at 8:25. I was still exhausted from the weekend lol. Over all it was pretty stressful, crazy but still fun.
