Job offer

Sometimes God shows us what we don't want to make us realize what it is we do want. or maybe just to get out of the rut that we've gotten in.

I have currently been in this situation. I'm miserable here in Albany, miserable living with my parents, miserable working at my dads office. (Even though I knew I'd be at the Elections office for about a month) Well a friend of mine texted me one day two weeks ago. She said that she had gotten her old job back and would be leaving her job that she currently has. She asked if I wanted her to give them my resume when she gives them her 2 weeks notice. I said sure. So that Monday she did and then the owner emailed me on Tuesday. I was a little surprised. My friend had told me that they would need someone ASAP so of course they were getting on the ball with finding someone. So we set up an interview for that Friday. By the way the job was in Atlanta. So Thursday afternoon I drove up to gmommys house, who only lives 20 mins away from the job, and spent the night at her house. I had the interview on Friday at noon. It went alright. Apparently it went more than alright because the owner called me the next day and asked when I wanted to start.

I turned it down though. It just was not at all what I wanted or where I wanted to be. I was stressing so much about what to do about it. Once I decided that it wasn't what I wanted and that I would turn it down if I got it I felt so much better. A huge relief! The whole time I just worried about it. Is this what I want, do I want to be back in Atlanta, will I be good at it, will I enjoy it, will I enjoy being there, will I be happy. And the answer to all of those was NOPE! It seemed more like a step in the wrong direction. I'd like to be closer to the beach not 3hrs in the other direction. I hate sitting at a computer all day working on photoshop editing out meticulous little things. Changing from one unhappy place to another unhappy place isn't a good idea. At least here in Albany I can get away more often, do more photography than I would have been able to if I had that job. It just didn't make sense to take it.

Well I turned down the job on Saturday and on Sunday I went to the auditions at Albany Theater. Well I got a call back. There are things here that I still want to do I guess I just needed the push. So that's where I'm at now. Still in Albany, same old jobs at my dads office and the elections office, but a little more happy about it. And looking forward to trying some new things.

worms, spiders, LAAAKE ! ! !

Well this past weekend was nice. Friday I didn't do anything. Saturday I went to see the new Resident Evil movie with Brad and then I went over to Sarahs house to hangout with her and Rachel. It was so much fun. We rode around on the mule, like a golfcart type thing, for a while. Sarah was looking for hogs. We saw a ton of deer and some quail. Actually Sarah almost ran over the quail. Sarah and Rachel made cupcakes and we ate. Then we watched "The Hunger Games". Sarah hadn't read the books or seen the movie yet. So I filled in the blanks in some parts as to what was going on. Well Sarah and Chris have a new puppy and she was sitting in Sarahs lap throughout the whole movie. She very sweet and a good puppy. Well when the movie was over Sarah gets up and says, "yea shes got worms" Rachel and I are like what?! I asked her if the dog pooped on the blanket and Sarah said yea. IT WAS SO DISGUSTING, but also funny. Sarah went outside to call Chris and tell him that the dog has worms. Rachel and I were inside freaking out about everything we saw on the floor then. Of course we'd see a piece of pine straw and be "what's that? is that a worm?" Well after that Sarah wasn't going to let the dog sleep in the house so we got in the truck and drove over to the kennels to put the dog up. Rachel and I were cracking up laughing about how glad we are that it happened to Sarah and not us, because she handled it a lot better than we would have. lol. We would have freaked out, completely grossed out, Rachel said she probably would have thrown up, I would probably have left immediately and gone home and gotten in the shower. lol. After Sarah put the dog up we rode around in the truck she was searching for hogs again. We drove through two very large spider webs. The first was one of those long skinny ones and it landed on the front hood. We started joking that it was going to crawl in and kill us. Then we hit a huge fat one and it hung on to the windshield. It was very creepy. Sarah eventually turned on the wipers and it disappeared off the side. I told I would not be getting out of that side of the truck cause that thing is probably holding on to the mirror waiting for us. The funny thing was Sarah said, " I hope one of yall have your cell phone cause I didn't bring mine." But of course we didn't. lol. So hopefully we don't get stuck anywhere cause we'd be spending the night in the truck. Then Rachel asked, "is there a gun in this truck?" cause earlier when we were riding around we had a rifle. Sarah said nope. Rachel asked if there was a flash light in the truck. but of course that was a nope as well. hahaha so we were riding around the plantation in the dark with no cell phones, no gun and no flash lights. We were really prepared! Anyways we were headed to one of the lakes and Sarah missed her turn and took another road instead and she thought it would come out in a different place. Well it did but not the place she thought. Suddenly a drop off appeared and we all screamed but it was too late for us to stop so we dropped about 3 feet and landed on the banks of the lake. Now this isn't like a sandy bank kinda thing. It's a road but it drops off into the lake. Sarah was able to slow down and turn before we drove into the lake. But the whole time we all were screaming. It was HILARIOUS!

So yea it was a hilarious night. We were all traumatized by the worms, creeped out driving around the plantation in the dark with no protection driving into giant spiders, and we almost drove into a lake. We had a blast!

Sunday I didn't do anything. lol
